Odorless, insecticide-free trap for effectively catching food moths
that develop in dry fruit, flour, in cocoa and cereal products such as
muesli, as well as in animal feeding stuffs.
Action:
The male moths (Indian meal moths, Mediterranean flour moths, almond
moths and warehouse moths) are attracted by a species-specific pheromone
(sexual lure), reinforced by visual enticement and remain stuck to the
adhesive surface. In this way, the infestation is reduced as the females
are no longer fertilized. The baiting action (of the unpacked pheromone
capsules) lasts for ca. 6 weeks. If another attack is experienced after
this time, change the trap for a new one. One trap is sufficient for the
whole of the kitchen or store room.
Instructions for use:
- Remove the protective foil from the adhesive surface (Fig. 1)
- Stick the pheromone capsule (removed from the foil) lying or
upright in the middle of the trap. The pheromones deposited on the
capsule are not visible to humans and have no smell. (Fig. 2)
- Place the trap in the open in kitchens or storerooms so that the
moths have a direct access (Fig. 3)
- Never use more than one trap per room
- If the adhesive panels are full of moths change these for new
ones.
In this way, the severity of the infestation and any new infestation
can quickly be established and appropriate measures can be taken. Please
dispose of the used trap with the household waste. Because of the
excellent baiting action, it is possible that male moths from outside
are attracted so that there is not necessarily any infestation of
foodstuffs. As only male moths are attracted and fly into the trap,
there is no risk of forming a breeding ground. If the trap is used as an
indicator, foodstuffs at risk should be checked at intervals of two to
three weeks as soon as the first moths are caught. For hygiene reasons,
do not use infested foodstuffs but consign them to the household waste.
Clean cupboards and shelves thoroughly, preferably with a vacuum
cleaner; remove dust bags immediately. Stores should be kept in sealable
glass or plastic containers.
